Welcome to Madonna Schools, a full day and boarding institution committed to academic excellence and holistic development. We place strong emphasis on cognitive learning while ensuring that every student actively participates in extracurricular activities that enrich, refresh, and strengthen both their mental and physical wellbeing.
Our students engage in a wide range of internal, external, local, and international programs and competitions. These include inter-house debates, spelling bees, Commonwealth competitions, and Model United Nations conferences—all of which sharpen their public speaking, leadership, and critical-thinking skills. They also participate in various sporting activities such as football, basketball, and track events, helping to promote resilience, teamwork, and overall physical fitness, all contributing to a well-rounded and holistic curriculum.
We provide hands-on guidance and counseling services that support career choices, academic decisions, and personal development. At Madonna Schools, we pursue excellence not only in academics but also in character and moral values.
In 1998, the gate of this citadel of learning was flung open to 96 students drawn from different parts of the country. At the gate of the welcome team was the pioneer British Principal, Mr. Robert Parkin. The current Principal is Sisters. The school has witnessed astronomical growth in student population and staff strength since its inception. Now the college has a population of 3000 students. As usual, the student population’s growth necessitated an equivalent growth in the staff population.
Today, the school has over 150 experienced and qualified staff. Out of this, 71 are teaching staff. The school has a Board of Directors and a Board of Governors: The Board of Directors comprises Hon. Lt. Col. Akor JAC (rtd), Engr. John Agbara, Mr. Abah Agbara, and Mr. Stanley Ajenu, whilst the Board of Governors includes Prof. P. B. Onaji, Prof. I.A.O. Ujah mni, Mr. Raphael Odoh, Mr. John-Mary Idoko, and Barr. B. M. O. Enejoh.
our philosophy at Madonna Schools is about fostering well-rounded individuals who are not only academically prepared but also equipped with the values, skills, and mindset to navigate an ever-changing world with confidence and purpose.
At Madonna Model Secondary School, our “Madonna Principle” serves as the guiding light for our educational approach. This principle encapsulates our core values and beliefs, shaping the foundation upon which our institution is built.
Success is not merely a destination; it’s a journey. At Madonna Schools, we believe that the “Key to Success” lies in a combination of principles and actions that empower individuals to achieve their goals and dreams.
